Every Wednesday around 10:20 a.m., one adoptable pet from the Darlington County Humane Society is featured as Pet of the Week on 94.7 The Hog. During the segment, we share the pet’s story, personality, and what makes them special — all with the goal of helping them find a loving forever home.

Meet BILLIE, a beautiful 1 year old, 39 Ib heart worm negative terrier mix who desperately needs a forever home soon! Her recent Paws Around the Pee Dee field trip showed everyone who Billie really is. She rode all the way to Bethea like a pro, enjoyed an ice cream treat, explored the outdoors on a 2 mile walk, and stopped for chicken from McDonald's. She walked beautifully on leash, rode quietly in the car, and after about an hour she completely relaxed and bonded with her handler. Billie was calm, friendly, and an explorer, meeting other dogs and children during her outing and did great! When she first arrived Billie was a little shy but she loves making doggy friends, happy to zoom or hang out, she has nice doggy manners. Billie is now used as a helper dog. Since she was previously house trained, she should settle back into a home routine quickly. Billie doesn't need perfection, she just needs someone willing to give her a chance. Once she feels safe, her playful, loving personality shines. Please don't let this young girl spend another day watching life pass by from behind kennel bars. She deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, and home again. 🚫NO CATS FOR BILLIE🚫
