Every Wednesday around 10:20 a.m., one adoptable pet from the Darlington County Humane Society is featured as Pet of the Week on 94.7 The Hog. During the segment, we share the pet’s story, personality, and what makes them special — all with the goal of helping them find a loving forever home.

This weekly feature is proudly sponsored by Purrs McBarkin, whose support helps give our animals added visibility in the community. The featured pet remains available for adoption through our standard process, and we always encourage potential adopters to visit the shelter and meet them in person.

Our current Pet of the Week is Sally!

SALLY, a happy 1 year old 42lb heart worm positive lab/cattle dog mix is looking for her forever home. Dog and kid friendly, arriving in early June, she is now considered URGENT to get out of the shelter. Sally is great with other dogs, she loves to romp and reads other dogs well. She is one of the helper dogs our Evaluation team uses with newer intakes out in the play yard. She’s also a great kennel mate, sharing her kennel with M&M due to shelter overcrowding. She gets along with everyone! She’s a sweet, friendly girl that would make a great companion for an active home. She would love to go on walks and adventures and having another playful dog would be perfect for her.
