Paws, Pics, and Field Trips

Our field trips are now available on multiple days throughout the week! This program lets you “check out” a DCHS dog for a fun morning adventure, giving them a break from the shelter and extra chances to be seen by adopters.

Paws Around the Pee Dee

Come have a fun morning with your friends, family, and very own DCHS Darling! From partaking in the fun festivities to enjoying sweet treats, your friendship and your photos create golden memories that help your shelter dog find a home.

  • Paws, Pics, and Field Trips:

    • Days: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

    • Time: 8:30a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Paws Around the Pee Dee:

    • Date: TBD

    • Time: TBD

    Pick-Up Location: Behind Lowe’s 580 E. Washington St., Hartsville, SC

    You’ll check in with our team, pick up your field-trip buddy, and head out for a relaxed time together.

  • Your outing can be as simple or as special as you’d like. Popular ideas include:

    • Taking a walk around town or through a local park

    • Visiting a pet-friendly spot for a treat or pup cup

    • Relaxing together at home or in the yard

    • Snapping photos and videos to share with us and on social media

    We’ll provide a harness, leash, and basic supplies. You provide the time, love, and fun!

  • Your field trip helps our dogs by:

    • Giving them a break from the stress of the shelter

    • Helping us learn more about their personality in a real-world setting

    • Providing better photos and videos to share with potential adopters

    • Increasing their chances of being seen, shared, and adopted

    Your pictures, videos, and invested time truly can change a dog’s life.

    • Individuals, couples, families, and repsonsible teens with an adult are welcome.

    • All participants must agree to our safety guidelines and waiver outlined in the sign-up form.

    • Before your first field trip, our team will review expectations and answer any questions.
