LITTER-ally Over You
Feeling a little petty? A little heartbroken? Or just done? For a $5 donation, submit a first name or nickname and we’ll write it on a litter pan to help support the cats of the Darlington County Humane Society. It’s a lighthearted, harmless way to vent — and every dollar goes directly toward food, litter, and care for our shelter cats.
First names or nicknames only. Names may be declined. All photos are tasteful and just for fun.

Pet of the Week
Pet of the Week on the Radio
Every Wednesday around 10:20 a.m., one adoptable pet from the Darlington County Humane Society is featured as Pet of the Week on 94.7 The Hog. During the segment, we share the pet’s story, personality, and what makes them special — all with the goal of helping them find a loving forever home.
This weekly feature is proudly sponsored by Purrs McBarkin, whose support helps give our animals added visibility in the community. The featured pet remains available for adoption through our standard process, and we always encourage potential adopters to visit the shelter and meet them in person.

Housewarming and Bake Sale: Thank you for being a friend and one year home!
Thank You for Being a Friend!
Join us on January 17 as we celebrate one year since our ribbon cutting and honor Betty White’s birthday with a housewarming open house at the shelter.
The event will take place from 12:00–4:00 PM during normal shelter operations. Guests are welcome to stop by at any point during that time to walk through the shelter, meet adoptable dogs and cats currently in our care, and speak with staff and volunteers about adoption, fostering, volunteering, and other ways to support the shelter. Light refreshments will be available for visitors, and a bake sale will be held during the event, with all proceeds benefiting the animals in our care.
This is a relaxed, come-and-go event centered on appreciation and connection. It is not a large-scale adoption event or fundraiser, but an opportunity to welcome the community in, reflect on the past year, and thank the friends who help make our lifesaving work possible.
For those who would like to support our work in honor of Betty White’s birthday, donations can be made by clicking the link to our Giving Grid. All contributions directly support the animals in our care and the programs that make our mission possible.
Thank you for being a friend to our animals and our shelter—we are grateful for your continued support.
