Our Mission
The Darlington County Humane Society is dedicated to providing compassionate care for abandoned, neglected, and homeless dogs and cats in Darlington County. We strive to protect the health, safety, and well-being of every animal that comes through our doors by ensuring they receive proper shelter, nutrition, and medical attention.
Our mission extends beyond immediate care. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach, helping to reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter initiatives, and advocating for the humane treatment of all animals. Through these efforts, we work toward a future where every adoptable pet has the opportunity to find a safe, loving, and permanent home.
What We Do
We provide daily care, medical attention, and shelter for animals in need while helping reunite lost pets with their families whenever possible. Through our adoption program and partnerships with reputable rescue organizations, we place homeless pets into safe, permanent homes.
Our organization supports the community through spay/neuter initiatives, education, and outreach programs that help reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare. We also coordinate and train dedicated volunteers whose time and compassion make our lifesaving work possible.
Together, these efforts help reduce euthanasia and move us closer to our goal of becoming a no-kill shelter.
